A while back I posted an inspirational story about a man here in Michigan who lost 400 pounds through diet and exercise. From that story I joined the Facebook Group called My 383lb weight loss story. While cruising the stories there last night I came across a person who laid down a challenge, and it got me thinking. Why couldn’t I step up to this challenge, and even extend it to my blog followers.
So, I have decided to add a new menu pick in my blog called “Challenges”. On this tab I will track whatever challenge I am taking up. You can read about my progress on the challenge there.
The first challenge I am throwing down I am calling “100 in 31”. The challenge is to walk or run 100 miles in 31 days. (For my friends outside the US, that would be 160KM in 31 days).
For the month of August I am going to walk (I do not run), 100 miles in 31 days. This will be a combination of treadmill and neighborhood walking. It works out to just about 3.22 miles, or 5.2 kilometers per day, every day.
Starting on Friday, I will be periodically posting my results as I walk my way to this challenge. I am looking forward to it being a way to kick start my walking, and keep me walking even when I am on vacation.
I intend to walk my way to 100 miles. If you are a runner, you could step up your challenge and make it all about running.
WHO IS IN? WHO ELSE WILL TAKE ON THIS CHALLENGE?
That’s awesome Bob! I would participate, but I am focusing on weight lifting at the moment. Maybe I will try this challenge in September. Thanks for the idea!

It’s night time here, and I have a night out tomorrow so I think I will start on Sunday to help rid the hangover or start Monday as I’m going to be out all day getting some bits and bobs π I’ll keep you updated though. And 4.5 miles is amazing. Keep up the work π
