Today’s weigh-in update will be brief. I just updated my challenges on Wednesday, and I remain on track for them heading into the weekend.
This morning the scale had me at 232.4 pounds. That is a 1.6 pound loss from last week and brings my total weight loss to 112.6 pounds, or 32.6% of my original weight.
This weekend my wife and I are headed to New Orleans. Lots of food and drink there, but also lots of walking. My goal for the coming week is to remain level on weight.
Since this is a short post, I decided to include my weight loss chart here as well as the Progress Chart page.
The downward slope of the chart has definitely shallowed in the last few months, as would be expected. Recently my average loss has been between 1 and 2 pounds, down almost a pound a week from last Fall. Again, totally expected. The remaining weight I am looking to lose will take a lot longer than the first pounds did. But, this is a Journey to better health, not a weight loss journey. Every day that I have increased activity, that I spend time in the gym, and that I make good eating choices is moving me in the direction of better health. The pounds are an important measure to be sure, but they are far from the only measure. I am not saying this to make excuses, not at all. I am painting a realistic picture for myself and others about how my weight loss has and will progress.
