Week 73 Weigh-in — A new goal reached!

Happy Friday to you all!!! I have finally done it. I reached my next weight goal. Today I tipped the scale at 216.2 pounds. that is down 2.6 pounds from a week ago, and it means I have busted through my next goal. I now weigh less than I did when I lost weight in 2000-2001. At that time the lowest I reached was 218 pounds!

To date I have lost 128.8 pounds or 37.3% of my original body weight.

This past week I was at the NASCAR Camping World Series Truck Race at Eldora Speedway in Ohio. I committed myself to tracking my food during the week. I am not sure I tracked 100% on either food or activity, but I worked hard at it. Here is my progress report for last week:

trackerI had more activity than the chart would show, not sure what happened there. At any rate, I am pleased with the results, and plan to continue to track accurately and show my progress report.

Over on my progress chart page, I show my progress for 2015, and since the beginning of this journey. Here is another interesting chart:

loong termLast year I asked for copies of my medical records for as far back as my last two doctors had. That represented data going back to June 1997. At that time I weighed 252 pounds. From there I went up to a high of 290 in May 2000. That was when I started Weight Watchers. In August 2001, I weighed 218 pounds. That represented the lowest I went on that cycle. From there the weight rises and falls until I top out at 350. On March 1, 2014 I started this  journey. Today, for the first time since August 2001, and for the first time in my recorded adult life for which I have data, I weigh less than 218 pounds. The red line shows my lowest previous weight, which I have no surpassed.

It has been a difficult task to get my weight down to this level, and I have about 21 pounds to go to my final goal weight of 195 pounds. It will take time, but I have the determination to continue.

Today feels quite good indeed!


  1. You my man are doing a fantastic job, even on your Nascar trip you did exceptionally awesome and you hit your goal. I see you have your mind set going on and the charts are a good thing. Great job Bob.
